Someone else is coming, or bringing a helper

A helper or a sub will be at the door, not you — or not only you. Say who, and that they can still text you. This is not a cancellation. Someone-else text prevents “who are you?” at the door.

Use a generic first name for the other person. It is a stand-in.

When to use this

A sub, same time

The visit still happens. You’re not the one on site.

Hi Jordan — I can’t be there Thursday. Chris will do the visit instead. Same time, same list. I’ll still be the one you text if anything looks off.

A helper with you

You’re still coming. There’s just another pair of hands.

A helper is coming with me on Tuesday. I’ll be there too. They’re extra hands, not a different person taking over.

They can wait for you instead

Give them a way to refuse the sub without a calendar menu.

I have to send someone in my place on Friday. Their name is Chris. If you’d rather wait for me, say so and we’ll skip Friday.

Named helper

Trust transfer.

Hi Alex — Mai will be there at 10 instead of me. Same work, I’ve briefed her. Text me if anything feels off.

You still supervise remotely

Accountability.

A helper from my crew will do today’s visit. I’ll check in after — you’re not losing the job, just the face at the door.

Bringing a helper or second tech

You’re still coming, with someone else. Tell them who, why, and whether the price changes before the day.

Helper for the lift

Two people for weight or access.

Hi Alex — just a heads-up: I’m bringing a helper tomorrow for the heavy lift. Same price as quoted. His name is Sam — he’ll be with me the whole visit.

Second tech, same quote

Speed or skill, not a surprise fee.

Hi — I’ll have a second tech with me on Thursday so we can finish in one visit. Your quote doesn’t change. Reply if you’d rather I come alone another day.

Apprentice / trainee

They’re learning; you’re still responsible.

Hi Jordan — I’ll have an apprentice with me on this visit. I’ll do the work; they’re observing and helping with setup. Same rate. Let me know if that’s not okay.

Ask permission first

Building rules or cautious clients.

Quick question before tomorrow: is it okay if I bring one helper? We need two people for the stairs. Happy to reschedule if you’d rather keep it just me.

On the way with helper

Day-of reminder at the door.

On my way — Sam is with me today as planned. See you in about 15 minutes.

How to send it

Copy one message, swap in the real name and time, and send from your own phone or email. Keep it to a few sentences. If they need a different topic, use a Related link below instead of mixing two subjects in one text.
