A cancellation or a quiet morning sometimes frees a slot the same day. Clients who need something fixed today will take a clear window over a vague “I might be able to.” Spell out the time range, what you can cover in that visit, and when you’ll text again if the window moves. Same-day work is still ordinary scheduling — keep the tone calm, not dramatic.
Only offer a window you can actually keep. If you can’t fit them today, say so and give the next real opening or a waitlist note instead of a soft maybe.
When to use this
A cancellation opened a slot and a nearby client asked for today.
Someone called about an urgent leak, lockout, or broken appliance and you can swing by.
You need to confirm a same-day window you already floated by phone.
Not for a normal next-week booking — use Reminder or Reschedule instead.
Open today after a cancel
A slot just freed up.
Hi Alex — I had a cancellation this afternoon. I can come by today between 2 and 4 if that still helps. Just reply yes and I’ll hold it for you.
Confirm the time window
After they said today works.
Hi Alex — confirmed for today, Thursday October 15, between 1 and 3. I’ll text when I’m on the way. If anything changes on your end, a quick note helps.
Can’t fit today — tomorrow instead
Be clear when today is full.
Hi Jordan — I can’t make it over today. Earliest I can do is tomorrow, Friday October 16, between 9 and 11. Want me to hold that, or should we look at next week?
Waitlist if something cancels
They’re flexible and want today if possible.
Hi Alex — today is full, but I’ll put you on the waitlist. If a morning slot opens, I’ll text right away. Otherwise I’ll confirm a regular time for Tuesday October 20.
After an emergency call
You already talked; put the visit in writing.
Hi Jordan — thanks for the call. I’ll be there today around 5 for the leak under the sink. I’ll stabilize it and let you know if parts are needed before I leave. See you soon.
How to send it
Copy one message, swap in the real name and details, and send from your own phone or email.
Keep it to a few sentences. If they need a different topic, use a Related link below instead of mixing two subjects in one text.
